We break each project down into three stages: Design – Installation – Aftercare.

1. DESIGN
Spike will arrange to meet with you at home so that he can get a feel for how you live and what you like. At the same time he will whet your appetite with ideas from our extensive portfolio of previous projects. This first introductory meeting is free if you live within 30 miles of Cambridge (please get in touch to find out the cost of an initial consultation further afield).

On the basis of that first meeting, Spike will prepare a quotation for his design fees, to cover: surveying, sketch plans, further meetings to discuss his proposals, and, finally, a masterplan and planting plan. He will take special care to ensure that practical issues, such as the loading on a flat roof, or the water requirements of particular plants, are considered at the design stage, just as much as aesthetic considerations. This will mean that your new outdoor space doesn’t just look good the day after installation, but carries on giving you pleasure (and no headaches) for years to come.

2. INSTALLATION
Once you have a set of plans that you are happy with, we will quote for the installation work. This will be a fixed-price quotation, so there will be no hidden surprises along the way! Our installation team will carry out the work cleanly, accurately, politely and to the pre-agreed timescale. We have years of experience in the creation of beautiful spaces in constrained circumstances and will go to great lengths to protect your floors and furnishings from soiling.

Depending on the size of the project, we may ask you for interim payments, between deposit and final settlement. These would be detailed in the quotation.

3. AFTERCARE
All fixtures and fittings are guaranteed for one year from the date of installation. However, plants are sensitive souls, and even the toughest ones require some tender loving care every so often. We recommend that you take out an aftercare contract with Sage, which will involve us in returning to maintain the plants in your new garden a few times each year, in which case we will guarantee your plants on a like-with-like replacement basis for the life of the contract.
